Thanks to our partnership with PsychArmor Institute, online training is provided for all of our volunteers to complete on their own schedule. Follow the steps below, complete the training, then download the Objective Zero App to begin connecting to community members!

STEP 1: Go to the Objective Zero Registration Link

You must use this link to sign up with your team and access Objective Zero assigned courses.

STEP 2: Enroll in Your Courses

On the unique registration link landing page you will see your team name, a brief introduction message, a “Start Learning” button, as well as the list of assigned courses. Select the “Start Learning” button to enroll in your assigned courses.

STEP 3: Create an Account or Sign In

You must have an account with PsychArmor to participate in the training courses. You can create an account or sign in to an existing account at any time.

After creating an account, you will be directed to your Dashboard - this is where all of your enrolled courses are stored. You can view your progress, start or replay a course, and submit a course rating from your dashboard.

Tip: If you do not see a course on your dashboard, use the drop-down filter above the list of courses to sort through your enrolled courses.

STEP 5: Start Learning!

From your Dashboard, click “Start Course” on any of the course options to get started. If this is your first time taking a course, a pop-up guide will walk you through the course player for a quick overview of all of the features.

After completing the online training, download the Objective Zero App to set up your in-app profile, watch the Operation SAVE video, complete a short knowledge quiz and you can start connecting!

Means Safety

Counseling Training

Means safety counseling, also referred to as means restriction counseling, entails assessing whether an individual at risk for suicide has access to a firearm or other lethal means for suicide and working with the individual and their support system to limit their access to these means until suicide risk has declined. Means safety has long been considered an important component of helping suicidal individuals in times of distress. Non-clinical, mental health allies (e.g., Community Members, First Responders, Peers, Caregivers, Spouses) are encouraged to engage in means safety counseling as well. This workshop will provide an overview of means safety counseling with individuals at risk and provide practical suggestions and tips for navigating conversations about safety and firearms.

Eligibility: Community-Based Veteran-Serving Mental Health Clinicians AND Mental Health Allies of Veterans and Service Members (e.g., Community Members, First Responders, Peers, Spouses, Caregivers)
